Bob Berry, Assistant Executive Director Learning at Tameside Council, visited the college to meet with Ashton Sixth Form College’s PGCE students last week.

Ashton Sixth Form College's Higher Education and Adult learning department regularly invite guest speakers from across various industries, allowing HE students to gain a real insight into their professions. Students join the discussion, asking key figures about their experiences and careers.

With his extensive knowledge in the education sector, Bob Berry discussed school standards and improvements. Engaging with the students, guests speakers bring an extra dimension to students learning. As a result, students have the rare opportunity to think about how their learning impacts a future role in the sector and understand the influence they could have in the future.
