What is a Foundation Year?
Foundation Year courses provide a route of entry into undergraduate study for those who do not have the relevant qualifications or experience to enter into undergraduate study directly.
This Foundation Year in Health and Social Care is delivered at Ashton Sixth Form College. It offers you the opportunity to develop core transferable skills and knowledge relevant to health care, social care and public health. Successful completion of the Foundation year enables progression to the three-year BSc course delivered at Staffordshire University.
Who is the course for?
This course is aimed at students with an interest in careers in health and/or social care and related disciplines, as well as: those who lack level 3 qualifications to access health degree routes; those who wish to update or develop their skills; and those who wish to develop confidence at higher level study. This can be year one of a four year BSc Degree programme in health or a route for specific health or social care professions.
