About the Course

The artistic expressionism through dance is a rare talent that few possess. If you have a passion for devising your own dances and love performing your moves then an A Level course in Dance is sure to satisfy your acrobatic and artistic needs.

Course Structure

Understanding Dance
This unit is designed to check your understanding of dance. It will ask questions on performance, choreography, constituent features of dances, themes, structures, health, fitness, diet and injury prevention.
It focuses on three main areas: The dancer as performer: knowledge and understanding of the demands made in practice and performance on the dancer. The process and craft of choreography your; own performance work and that of professional repertoire. The significance of dances your; own performance work and that of professional repertoire.

Choreography and Performance
This is a practical moderation where you will be assessed on your; solo choreography and performance and a group performance. You will learn and practice the principles of chorography to create a solo and group dance.
