He is now part of the 'adopt an athlete' scheme to help him with funding to reach his full potential in his chosen sport of Lacrosse. You can help James on his way to Vancouver to play
Our Performing Arts students took a short walk to the Brand New Inspire Academy before we broke up for Christmas to perform the classic pantomime of Cinderella.

This week our Foundation Art Students have been learning about the arte povera and conceptualism. They have been working collaboratively on a group project. Congratulations to all of our students celebrating their A-Level and BTEC Results today. We have maintained an outstanding A-level pass rate of 98% - exceeding the A-Level national average. Ashton Sixth Form College is particularly delighted by the increase in students attaining the top grades in their courses – high grades (A*, A, B) have increased again this year and a huge 75% of all A-Levels taken by Ashton Sixth Form Students were graded A*-C.

Our Economics students wiped the stock market floor by coming first out of 40 teams at The Investment Challenge run by Manchester University.
Our enrichment day took place last Wednesday (24th June) and our students took a break from their studies to get involved in a variety of activities from cupcake decorating to Jurassic world experience!
Every year the Creative Digital Arts department celebrate the talent of their students and praise their work in an awards ceremony known here as The Georges. Amongst the festivities this year was a very special award in honour of James Haggerty a dearly missed student of Ashton Sixth Form who we sadly lost last year in a motorcycle accident. This is the first year the award has been presented and winner Emman Shema, holds his plaque proudly next to James' parents at the event.
Former Ashton Sixth Form College student Sophie Woods, a centre midfielder from Droylsden is heading to the USA to play for Iowa’s Indian Hills Community College women's soccer team the Warriors. The team are excited to welcome Sophie who has experience playing for teams affiliated with Manchester United and Manchester City. IHCC coach Stephanie Gale commented “Woods' playing experience includes stints with the Manchester Centre of Excellence, Manchester United youth teams, Manchester City Ladies Reserves and the Stockport County Ladies.”
