Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (EYE)

Classes run Wednesday evening.
You will need support from a professional within the real-world environment who will be required to complete professional development records.
The course is structured around four themes:
- Theme 1: Health and Well-being
- Theme 2: Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
- Theme 3: Play, development and learning for school readiness
- Theme 4: Professional development
To complete the course you would need to complete 23 units
Placement Hours
Placements should be undertaken in at least 2 different settings to cover the following age ranges:

Who is this course for?
This qualification is suitable for those learners, in paid or voluntary employment in an early years education and care role with children from birth to 5 years.
Why study an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care?
This is an 18-month programme delivered at the college. On completion, you can progress to the Level 4 Certificate for the Early Years Advanced Practitioner.

Wednesday evenings at 6.00pm - 8.30pm
Entry requirements
- It is recommended that you hold a Functional Skills qualification at level 2 or a GCSE Grade C or above in English and maths.
- You must be in either paid or voluntary employment in the early years setting for a minimum of 1 full day per week. (Any day of your choice)
- It is recommended that you have a minimum of 6 weeks of experience in the early years setting prior to starting the course.
Cost
The course cost is £2880, however, you may be eligible to apply for an advanced learner loan if you are age 19 and over and if it's your first full Level 3 qualification.
OR
*Free course for Jobs Level 3 Offer (National Skills Fund) - Study for free if you are aged 19 or older, and live in Greater Manchester if:
- This is your first Level 3 qualification (which equates to two or more A-levels, four or more AS levels, or BTEC/NVQ level 3 or Access to HE qualification or
You already hold a Level 3 qualification and:
- You are in receipt of Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).
- You are not in paid employment or your take-home pay is less than £345 a month and you are receiving a means-tested benefit (e.g. Universal Credit)
- You are in paid employment but with an annual gross salary of less than £20,888.
If you're aged between 19-23 and live in Greater Manchester, the course may be free if:
- This is your first Level 3 qualification (which equates to two or more A Levels, four or more AS levels, or BTEC/NVQ level 3 or an Access to HE qualification).
Adavanced Learner Loans may be available if none of the above applies.
