Awards Evening 2024

10 Jan 25

Before the Christmas break, we celebrated our annual Awards Evening.

Students, staff, and families gathered together on the evening to recognise and celebrate nominated students from the Class of 2024. Our college band, 'Caught in the North,' performed for families and guests on arrival, setting a wonderful tone for the event.

Centre Principal Lisa Richards began the evening with a warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to the students receiving awards, including a review of Class of 2024's time at college. Lisa was followed by our guest of honour, Tameside MP Andrew McLaren, who shared inspiring words with the audience. Andrew spoke about the importance of supporting young people in Tameside and also offered encouragement to students as they look forward to the next stage of their lives.

We were also joined by The Worshipful Civic Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Betty Affleck, who congratulated and awarded certificates to the students, acknowledging their outstanding accomplishments.

To conclude the evening, Student Council president Freddie Ives delivered a vote of thanks to our staff and special guests, and extended his congratulations to all students who received an award.

A huge well done to all the students who were recognised at this year’s Awards Evening, and thank you to Andrew McLaren for being our inspiring guest of honour!
