EPQ Conference 2024
At Ashton Sixth Form College, A2 students have the opportunity to take the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). The EPQ is an additional qualification that allows students to develop a topic or area they are interested in.
For a second year running, students were invited to the "being an effective researcher" EPQ Learner Conference. The conference provided a brilliant opportunity for EPQ students to embrace a wide range of research related topics.
With the aspect of 'Why Research' with Professor Kevin Orr from the University of Huddersfield, 'Academic Writing and Developing a Research Questions' with Katrina Lueddeke from the University of Southampton, 'Academic Integrity and AI' with Dr Joe Stanley and Emily Sharp from the University of Leeds, with additional research inputs from members of the college EPQ Supervisor team.
Rachel Allen, EPQ Co-ordinator explained that the conference enable the EPQ students to further their research knowledge and understanding from such a wealth of experience provided by our guest speakers and our EPQ staff members, Dr Damian Windle, Lisa Richards, and Jo Fletcher Saxon.
