November 2024 Speaker of the Month - Professional Referee, Leigh Doughty

We were delighted to welcome our first November Speaker of the Month, Leigh Doughty, in to college this week. 

Leigh is a professional referee, who starting refereeing in 2006, qualifying through the Blackpool Referees Association before becoming an England Football League (EFL) referee in 2019.

Leigh explored his career journey with students on our Sports courses, reflecting on how he had played football from a young age and knew he always wanted to work within the sport. 

Following Leigh's talk, students had the opportunity to ask questions, gaining valuable tips and advice from Leigh in relation to their own journeys and future careers.
