During this course, students will learn the core knowledge and skills that are needed for entry to a range of media, broadcast and production roles. This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in the media sector.

The Media, Broadcast and Production T Level is a 2 year full time Level 3 course. The course features both in class learning as well as a work experience element of at least 315 hours (45 days). This will give students an insight into the media industry and how it works which will equip them with both practical and professional skills. Allowing for a progression into either employment, apprenticeship or higher education. 

The course includes an Occupational Specialism module of Content Creation and Production. Students will develop skills in and knowledge of

End-to-end process workflow

Undertaking research

Knowledge of audience/consumer 

Generate ideas and concepts 

Pitch/present to clients 

Studio based and Single Camera Productions

How to make stylistic choices based on target audiences and client requirements

Graphics & post-production software

 

Entry requirements

The course will cover content such as:

Generating ideas

generating ideas for content creation through research and analysis of existing  content

Communicating ideas

presenting initial ideas clearly

Working collaboratively with others

working in a group to develop ideas for projects and responding to client feedback

Project Management

Management of all production documents such as scripts, call sheets and schedules

Production

creating content through capturing video, pictures, graphics and sound in various formats using a range of creative techniques

Post Production

Editing productions using specialised software to create complete products for an intended audience

 

The T Level route supports students going onto higher education (HE), courses include: Level 6 Events Management, Level 6 Media Studies, Level 6 Film Production & Content Creation.
