Welcome to Higher and Adult Education at Ashton Sixth Form College

Each year, we welcome hundreds of learners on a range of part time and full time adult and university courses, whether you are looking to further your qualifications, re-train or simply want to learn a new skill.

Important information regarding coronavirus

Dear student,

As from Friday, our adult and higher education courses move to home learning and staff will teach and support you using online communication. Please contact your teacher about how your learning will be managed during college closure. College will be closed after Friday until further notice but your learning will be supported remotely.

You will be supported through a number of different platforms for example:

  • Canvas
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Email and telephone
  • WhatsApp
  • MathsWatch

Please contact your teacher via email about next steps if you have not heard from them by the end of Friday.

We are unable to advise on exams at this time but will update you when we can.

Placements and observations in practice will not take place, please discuss this with your teacher.

If you do not know your teacher's email address, please contact our student support line which remains open even during college closure: 01616668215 or AdultEd@asfc.ac.uk

"Adult students returning to education develop their confidence and self belief" (Ofsted, 2020)

Click here to read our creative project ‘Having a Voice’.  This is the culmination of a collaborative creative project between our Foundation Art students in Higher Education, our A level students and our Creative Writing group in Adult Education. The project is to mark the 100th anniversary of The Representation of the People Act 1918 which extended voting rights to some women. The project is named “Having a Voice”. We are so impressed by the students’ contributions to this project and we hope you are too and that you enjoy absorbing yourself in “Having a Voice”.
