Congratulations to Ashton Sixth Form Art student Samuel Smith, whose photograph entitled “Underground” was Highly Commended in the Ashton Art Gallery Image 11 competition. Congratulations also to Jessica Patel and Aimee Bates whose photographs were chosen for the Specially Selected Category.

Each year, the competition has a different theme. This time it was “Indoors/Interiors” and the response was overwhelming, with more than 100 entries. The judges were so impressed with the standard that they decided to retain the extra category of highly commended work.

The photographs will be exhibited in Ashton Central Art Gallery until the 18 June 2011
