A2 Drama students recently visited the Globe Theatre in London to see a stripped down production of the Bard’s Classic - Hamlet, starring Joshua McGuire.

As with all London excursions an early night was advised as students needed to be on the early-morning train from Stalybridge, for most this meant a 5am wake-up call. After a long but comforatable journey the students were excited to get across to the theatre as they were being treated to pre-show tour of the Globe.

“Just like the peasants of old we stood in the yard… but I think we smelt a bit better than the “groundlings” who apparently only had 2 baths a year and ate raw garlic to ward off the plague. We all had a fantastic day and this was great preparation the Drama exam in June.”
