Students Raise Funds for Ugandaid

17 October 2011

You may remember Alison Thomas’ visit to the Nile Vocational Institute in Uganda.

Alison is now working with students to raise funds for Ugandaid and The Nile Vocational Institute and plans to revisit Uganda with a group of students in the near future.

Students have been raising funds by selling yellow charity wristbands with the message “You can make a difference” as well as fairy cakes and other baked goodies.

Students and staff have also been signing up to enter our ‘Fun Run’ on the 5th of November at Dovestone Reservoir. Families and Friends are encouraged to cheer on the participants from 10am. The Ashton Sixth Form College Citizenship enrichment group are organising the fundraising and hope to have over 50 participants and aim to raise over £750 from the fun run.
