UgandAid 5K Fun Run

25 October 2012

On Sunday 21 October Ashton Sixth Form College held it’s second annual 5K Fun Run at Dovestone Reservoir, Saddleworth.

Over 30 participants attended and have so far raised over £500. There were some great Fancy dress entries from Avatar to Armed Forces, Where’s Wally and even student Freddie Poole in a morph suit!

1st placed runner was new member of staff and former student Nik Higgins (Aspirations Officer) with a time of 16 minutes and 25 seconds.

1st placed student was Taiyab Mahmood with a time of 17 minutes and 11 seconds. In second place was Dj Delaney (17.32) and in third Taylor Yates (18.59).

The fastest ladies time of the day went to Natalie Worthington who made it to the finishing line in 25 minutes and 58 seconds.

Best fancy dress outfit has to be student Freddie Poole in the purple morph suit, which certainly turned heads, especially amongst the unsuspecting Sunday strollers!

Runners are now collecting their sponsorship money and donations are still coming in! Visit our Justgiving site where anyone can log on and make a contribution.
