25 July 2013

Former Ashton Sixth Form College student Conor Hanifian recently starred in Channel 5′s Moors Murders Docu-drama; Myra Hindley: The Untold Story.

Conor who studied Drama and Theatre Studies, Film and Media left Ashton to study Media Performance and has just completed his first year of University. After spending time searching for an agent and some gentle persuasion from his mother, Conor uploaded his profile to online agency Casting Now, he was surprised to be contacted the very next day and asked to attend an audition that day.

Attending the audition Conor had no idea what the subject matter or format would be, and no clues as to the part he would play. After a short sequence the director waqs highly impressed and ran through a number of improvised scenes to really test Conor’s acting and improv skills.

2 weeks later Conor received a phone call out of the blue, it was 9 live media offering him the part and the opportunity to break into the competitive world of television acting.

“I was really surprised, I was pleased with how my audition had gone but they don’t tend to give a lot away at auditions. It was an amazing feeling, I felt great that the hard work I had done, and was still doing was already beginning to pay off”
