Remembrance Performance 2016

10 November 2016

Dancers and performers from across Tameside came together to honour those who have been affected by warfare. It was a spectacular event showcasing a range of dance styles, musical genres, voices and talents. Organised by our Performing Arts Deparment, the show featured dancers from our ASFC Dance course, as well as students from other courses and alumni who are involved in external performance groups. The show brought together people from across Tameside who are involved in various community projects, as well as families and friends of all ages.

The event was in aid Tameside Armed Services Community, created to serve the four thousand veterans currently residing in the Tameside borough. In attendance on the night were a number of Veterans from Tameside, including an incredible 92 year old Veteran (pictured below).

"What an enormous honour it was to work with Tamzin and the many people who made last week’s dance event possible, it was a fabulous standard and we all, including the veterans, were made to feel very welcome." - Vanessa Rothwell, Stronger Communities.

Thank you to those who took part, attended and donated. And a special thank you to those who organised the event and made it an incredible success.
