Teaching first began to appeal to Emma after having a positive experience with one of her secondary school teachers. She admired the dedication, and observed first-hand how much effort and enthusiasm the teacher brought to the role. 
 
Emma chose a Psychology degree to gain a better understanding of child development, she spent three years gathering relevant experience to ensure that teaching is the right profession for her.
 
Emma feels that her background in Psychology and Child Development aided her in developing a teaching style, as she has an understanding of how a child's needs affect their ability to learn.
