Computer Science students 'Best in Show' at Tameside Hack

26 March 2018

The Tameside HACK took place recently and Ashton Sixth Form College's students were awarded the prize for 'Best in Show'.

The team included Amish Shah, William Farrow, Junaid Ghafoor and Vishal Mistry and they entered Tameside HACK under the name 'Sidewinder Cookie'.

Adam Benson also attended the event in another team with students from other institutions and won one of the sub-categories.

The aim of the competition was to create an app that provides notifications in real-time based on your location. For example, this could be notifying you of your shopping list when you enter a supermarket or updating you on student discounts went you enter a particular shop.

Ashton Sixth Form College Computer Science students stood out to the judges for the innovative approach and teamwork.
