Student Life Tutorials

2 April 2018

Last week, students at Ashton Sixth Form College attended Student Life talks during their tutorials.

Tutorials are sessions on each student timetable, which they attend on a weekly basis. Each week, tutorials take on a different theme to develop students' learning and to provide support.

Visiting guest speakers have been exploring what it is like to be a student at university and how university life is different to college. They have also been covering financial options for students and how university can be an affordable option for all. For those students who want to know more about university or have previously dismissed the idea, these tutorials ensure each students is aware of the pathways available to them.

Each student at Ashton Sixth Form College is assigned a personal tutor at the start of each academic year, who will be a constant figure of support and guidance during their studies. As well as talks such as this and inviting guest speakers to the college, tutors ensure that the students experience at college is as smooth and as valuable as it can be. Students also have the opportunity to meet with their tutors during Progress Hour and they can be found in Tutor Base, near Student Services.
