Education and Health raised over £900 for Tameside Toy Appeal

13 November 2018

Education and Health students held their annual fundraiser this year. The college was filled with Disney characters raising money for Tameside4Good, a local charity working right here in the Tameside borough.

Throughout the day it was fairly normal to spot Little Red Riding Hood in the Library or Thing 1 and Thing 2 in Costa. The students managed to raise over £900 - an incredible amount! This money will then be put together to purchase a range of toys for children in Tameside.

Tameside4Good works with local groups within the borough in order to make a real difference to people's lives. Each year, they launch the Tameside Toy Appeal to collect as many toys, gifts and teddies for young people in the borough who may not receive a Christmas present.

The Education and Health department choose to work with Tameside4Good each year as it is a local charity affecting the lives of young people here in the Tameside borough.

In the last 5 years alone, Tameside4Good has "been able to fund almost 90 community projects distributing £150,000" www.actiontogether.org.uk/.

This year, Ashton Sixth Form College is listed as an official drop-off point for the toy collection. You can view the full list of drop-off points here.
