Sociology alumni shares her university experience

16 December 2019

A-Level Sociology students were visited by former student and alumni Suzannah Teggart.

Suzannah studied English Literature, History and Sociology at Ashton Sixth Form College. She achieved BBB and progressed on to university at the London School of Economics & Political Sciences to study Sociology in 2018.

Returning to the college, Suzannah presented to students who are currently in the same position she was just one year ago. She was able to talk about her experience at university and how she has found moving away from home. Students were able to hear about university firsthand from somebody who has experience studying at Ashton Sixth Form College. She has a fantastic understanding of how the students may have been feeling and therefore could help them in their decision making process about their future careers.

Suzannah also spoke about why she chose to study Sociology specifically and how the style of teaching and topics she is learning about have progressed at university-level. She was also able to speak about her future career plans beyond university.

Current students had the chance to speak to Suzannah and ask her any questions they may have had about university in general or about studying a Sociology degree.
