Employer masterclass for computer students

18 February 2021

As part of National Apprenticeship Week, students studying Computer Science and IT, were able to take part in an online digital masterclass.

The masterclass was led by Positive Steps and featured guest speakers Louis Georgiou, Founder and Managing Director of Code Computerlove, and Jacob D'Rozario Designer at Code Computerlove.

Code is a "company of specialists in design, technology, product delivery, business strategy and coaching." a consultancy business based in Manchester (www.codecomputerlove.com).

Students were able to hear about Louis and Jacob's path in the digital industry, and the steps that led them to their current roles. They shared their experiences and advice, focusing on the central idea that "there is no set route to a career in digital."

Code have worked on a wealth of projects across a range of sectors, including recent work for the Manchester Airport Group, BBC, ASDA and Chester Zoo.

For the students studying Computer Science or IT, this was a fantastic opportunity to learn from professionals who are working in the fields they may wish to progress on to. They also had the chance to ask questions about their own careers, allowing to make more informed decisions about their futures.
