A2 Students compete in USA dance competition!

7 June 2023

Second year students Leigha Bolton and Hollie Dickson recently competed in and came 6th and 11th place in a dance competition, hosted in Florida, USA.

Leigha and Hollie have been dancing since they were 2 years old at separate dance schools. They both joined Tycoons club in Stalybridge when they were 10.

Whilst being a part of Tycoons and their Junior team, they have won competitions nationally and came 2nd in a competition in Germany.

The pandemic put their competing on hold. Once the pandemic had ended, they were able to begin competing again, but this time in the Senior team. They participated in many competitions, becoming 1st place in most. They're wins meant they qualified to participate in The Dance Worlds competition this year! They were part of 2 teams - Co-ed Elite Hip Hop and Girls Elite Hip Hop, which they came 6th and 11th place in respectively.

Leigha and Hollie have several more national competitions upcoming and are hoping to return to Florida next year to compete again!

Hollie has also taken her dancing to another level and coaches a younger hip hop which she is very passionate about. She is also off to Boston, USA for the summer to work a dance assistant before hopefully starting university in September.

We wish both girls the very best of luck.
