Ashton Explore launch 2023

9 October 2023

At Ashton Sixth Form College, students have the opportunity to get involved in various extra-curricular activities through the Ashton Explore programme. These opportunities allow students to gain new qualifications, develop personally and enhance future applications.

At the beginning of term, the Ashton Explore programme officially launched for 2023-24. This block of enrichment activities included six clubs, such as Debate Club and Book Club, along with thirteen courses, such as Sign Language, Yoga and Art Seminars. These opportunities are open to both Year 12 and Year 13 students.

A very popular course that returns each year is Sign Language. Students are offered a six week beginners course in British Sign Language (BSL) and work with the team from Sign Academy. Learning BSL is a hugely rewarding and valuable skill to gain and is great to enhance any future job or university applications.

As the academic year progresses students will participate in their chosen activities, continuously developing themselves and their skillsets!
