World Book Day

3 March 2011

Thursday 3 March was World Book Day and to mark the occasion appropriately, the Learning Resources Centre held a book sale to raise money for the charity; ‘Book Aid International’ which provides books to the developing world. Alex Austin, Danielle Chesney and other members of the ASFC Book Club helped to run the stall. The College also welcomed local crime writer Chris Simms who gave talks about his writing, and how to get started as a writer, to groups of students and staff. The booksale was really well recieved with many students taking away a full bag of bargain books. Many thanks to Chris Simms for his interesting and informative talks which have hopefully inspired students to take up the art of fiction writing.
