Officially the best college in the area for A-Level and Vocational performance

26 January 2018

The Department for Education has officially ranked Ashton Sixth Form College the best college in the borough for A-Level and Vocational courses in performance tables released January 2018.

Each year the DfE releases their official performance tables for education providers across the country. The announcement this year sees outstanding results for Ashton Sixth Form College, particularly for the progress a student makes at the college. Comparing results data from results achieved in 2016-17, Ashton Sixth Form College ranks top in the borough, significantly outperforming other institutions in the area for both A-Level and Vocational performance for the second year running.

A-Level Performance

The progress score compares schools and colleges on how much progress a student makes from their key stage 4 results to the end of their A-Levels. A score above zero means a student makes more progress, on average, than similar students across the country. A score below 0 means that students make less progress. The DfE performance table below shows that the students studying at Ashton Sixth Form College make significant progress on A-Level courses compared to other institutions in the area.
