Over £290 raised for Children in Need

19 November 2019

Ashton Sixth Form College have been fundraising for the BBC's Children in Need.

The Student Council and the Charities Society at the college joined forces, working together to raise money for the incredible cause. The Children in Need appeal dates back to 1980 and has raised millions of pounds over the years. The charity aims to ensure that every young person has a safe and happy childhood. The money raised for the appeal is distributed to fund a range of projects across the country that directly impact young people in a positive way.

Students decided to fund raise over two days (Friday and Monday) to ensure all students and staff could get involved. People across the college were encouraged to show their spots or wear their pyjamas in support. A bake sale was also held in Costa during break times and encouraged people to make a donation.

The student's hard work and the generosity of the college community meant that an incredible £293.50 was raised for Children in Need.
