Realising Aspirations visit MMU

23 May 2022

In January, students on the Realising Aspirations programme visited Manchester Metropolitan University, working closely with the Childhood studies and Education department.

The students participated in two tasters sessions on their visit. The taster sessions surrounded the idea of what childhood is. They worked together in small groups to design a food marketing campaign, and produced a poster addressing an enviromental issue. These tasks and sessions were aimed to develop their teamwork and communication skills.

The trip allowed students to gain a greater understanding of degrees relating to working with young people from a local university. Students also had the chance to ask a panel of undergraduates questions about the different courses, university life and studying at MMU in general.
