A2 Student secures Paralegel apprenticeship!

25 May 2022

Second year student, Joinab Ahmed is currently studying Applied Science, Health and Social Care and Law here at Ashton.

Over a period of time, Joinab took part in several work experiences, some which she found herself and others that our Work Placements team supported her to secure. These work experiences were at law firms across Greater Manchester, including Addleshaw Goddard, Clifford Chance and Browne Jacobson.

At Addleshaw Goddard, she took part in their legal access week, which she secured with the help of our dedicated Work Placements team here at Ashton. During the week, Joinab participated in many workshops and Q&A sessions with CEO's of large companies.

Following her work experience with the firm, Joinab applied for their apprenticeship route, which she believed was the best for her. Taking the paralegal apprenticeship role means Joinab will be given the experience of working in a law firm, but also have the ability to use the knowledge and skills she has gained through her studies.

The application and interview process for the apprenticeship role was intense with a large amount of competition, so it's an incredible achievement for Joinab to secure this role!

Joinab said:

"My time at Ashton has helped me achieve this in several ways, from the support from my teachers encouraging me to apply and the college giving me the ability to study law and help me discover my passion for law."

Well done, Joinab!
