In this course you will develop knowledge and understanding of Gameplay design and apply this to the planning and creation of assets and levels for Games. You develop skills in research, sketching, Photoshop, Autodesk Maya and Unreal.  

There are 4 internal Units that cover: 

  • 3D Development 
  • 2D Development 
  • Game Engine Visual Scripting 

 

In each internal unit you will undertake a piece of research for a set topic; you then present planning documentation including sketches, level plans, workflows and audience research. You will then use this work to inform a practical asset or level that showcases your designs.

Tutorials for the introduction of Maya and Unreal underpin your course to develop yours skills and support your development of Game Assets and working levels.

In this course there is also 1 mandatory external exam in which you create a Game to a set examiner brief. This activity is scheduled in exam conditions in which you have to research, prep and make a functioning level for a Game in Unreal Engine in 20 hours.
